Sadie is an Ottawa-born, Indian-Canadian actor, singer, dancer, creator, director and graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada's acting program. She is now based in Toronto where she is an actor on screen, for theatre, voice and musical theatre.
Her experience playing Nearly Wild in the National Arts Centre production of Concord Floral, directed by Erin Brubacher and Cara Spooner, was what inspired her to pursue acting on a professional level, starting with her training at NTS. In her time at school, she studied with many professionals who have shaped her into the artist she is today. These include and are certainly not limited to: Alisa Palmer, Jackie Maxwell, Ian Watson, Brenda Bazinet, Rebecca Harper, Adam Lazarus and David Latham and as well as the ensemble of brilliant artists who were a part of her cohort.
Television and film credits include Deadly Divorce Party (NB Thrilling Films), Not My Child (Fireside Pictures), The Apprentice and the Curse of the Fanged Madonna (Leader Media), Indomptable WILD (Morgana Mackenzie Films), Game On (YTV).
Sadie is a classically trained singer with a with a strong musical theatre and operatic background. One of her most treasured roles being Catherine Hyatt in The Last 5 Years.
Another facet of her artistic practice is directing specifically in the context of new play development. She is co-founder of Floral Theatre Ottawa and is currently developing an adaptation of Anton Chekov's "The Man in a Case" into a mask piece titled "The Boy in a Case" thanks to the NTS TEC Grant Program. She is director and dramaturge of Brontae Hunter's second iteration her play "Even in the Dead of Night" through the OAC recommenders program. And most recently has joined Keep Good (Theatre) Compnay's audiobook+picture book production of Gillian Clark's "Adventure's" directed by Christian Barry as a collaborator to help this new form take shape.
Above all else she is passionate about participating in art that is accessible, challenging, joyful and vulnerable.
